JDRF offers a free public outreach program to help families who have recently had a child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The intent of this program is to deliver a care package of information to help families learn more about type 1, the research for type 1, and the management and control of the disease.Education & Outreach Events
The NEO Chapter of JDRF hold support group meetings on the third Saturday of every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, and Nov). These groups offer an opportunity for newly diagnosed and their families to talk with other families and medical professionals on a variety of issues that arise when living with type 1 diabetes. These groups meet at the JDRF office from 9:30 to 11 AM.

NEW YORK, March 22, 2010 - The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, said today that it will begin a diabetes research collaboration with Pfizer, Hadassah Medical Organization, and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem on drugs to replicate and regenerate insulin-producing cells in people with type 1 diabetes.
