Kids For A Cure: Youth Fundraising Program

The JDRF Kids For A Cure program is an enjoyable team building activity for youth and teens, that promotes a feeling of good will in your school or with your youth group, knowing that the fundraising efforts are being used to fund the best possible research to prevent, treat, and cure type 1 diabetes (T1D).

JDRF’s research mission is to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF’s research mission is to discover, develop, and deliver advances that cure, better treat, and prevent T1D. As a global leader in the fight against T1D, JDRF’s research programs are comprehensive, addressing the hopes and dreams of every person with T1D for the best quality of life and a cure for this disease.

JDRF staff would be happy to have the opportunity to partner with local schools or youth organization. Also, we would be glad to come to your school or meet with your group and host a kick-off assembly at your request pending JDRF staff availability.

Fundraiser Ideas

Dimes and Dollars for Diabetes

Collect spare change and dollars to support the research to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. Have a competition or challenge other schools/groups to see who can collect the most.

Kids Walk

Have a JDRF Kids Walk. Select a date, time and location. Students collect donations and then walk for a cure.

Caps for a Cure

On this day all students will be allowed to wear their favorite cap or hat in school for a minimum donation.

Sports Competition

Organize a kick-ball, dodgeball, or other sports competition. Set up a corn hole tournament or even a battle of the bands.

If you have a different idea for raising funds for diabetes, give it a try!

After your Fundraiser

We will send prizes and certificates of appreciation to the top fundraising classroom or group, hosting school or organization and campaign ambassadors.

Bronze at $1,000

Silver at $3,000

Gold at $5,000

Diamond at $10,000

When your school or group has raised over $1,000, they will receive a 3’x5’ banner personalized with the school/group name to display as a record of achievement!
